Nara Park

Assalammualaikum~

If you ever venturing around Osaka, don't forget to hop on the train and drop by at the Nara Park for the little cuties of deer there :) Unlike the busy city in Osaka, we enjoyed the completely traditional atmosphere as Nara still holds the spirit of Budha cherishing prayer strongly. The last time when we visited USJ,on the next day we had fun playing and feeding the semi-wild deer there. It is said that they have 1200 of them wandering around the town of Nara.We bought some deer crackers(shika sembei) at 150 yen per pack and stroll around, what surprised us was how the deer there kept following us and even one of the deer bite on our jacket, asking to be feed.

They were sooooo cute and what's interesting about them, they seemed polite because some of them do bow after we fed them. After finished feeding, we just simply raised up our hand with palm opened indicating no more shika sembei :p We got to know that is believed that the deer of Nara Park come from the one that the god of Kasuga-Taisha Shrine rode on the way from Kashima (current Ibaraki Prefecture) in the 8th century. Since then, deer have been valued as messengers of god.It is great to see all the healthy fawns with white dots playing around as we love animals so much.

Overall, the atmosphere there was really great and the experience was unforgettable. With the beautiful scenery there it catches most of the visitor's hearts and we definitely will come back to visit Nara again in future.
